Here are some shots of the one (1) sunflower that popped up in my garden. All the ones I planted? Nada, zilch, but this sucker grew up on its own. I figured I should take a picture before some wild animal destroys it (more on that later).

And here is a video of my arch-nemesis, the chipmunk. I suppose it doesn't help I feed the critter sunflower seeds... I suspect our house will collapse into a massive sinkhole one day, and billions of chipmunks will pour out. Yeah, they're EVERYWHERE. A couple years ago one chewed the bottom of my remaining sunflower plant - TIMBER - and then ate just a tiny piece out of it. Grrr...

I absolutely love sunflowers and these are incredibly beautiful
When I was taking a natural history class one summer I trapped a chipmunk and she gave birth to some of the cutest babies.
Finally when they were old enough I let her and babies go......
I still think about her she would make thumping noises in her cage........
which was so funny............

they were
I had no idea she was pregnant when I trapped her.
It was a day before weekend, so I took her home and the following
day she had the babies
Not sure what they call baby chipmunks but they were with me
until they were weaned and they were sooooooooooooooo cute
I kept them up in a room in a quiet spot.
The cage I had opened the trap to was roomy and as soon as
she had the babies I put some stuff in it so she could be comfortable.
She was a good mother and then later I let them go.
