And the TV season thus far...

Since there is no true 'season' left on TV, everything seems to start willy-nilly whenever it wants, on whatever platform it wants, which is probably why I forget to watch stuff, and gave up on Walking Dead because I missed two episodes because I hadn't realized it had started up again, so now OI'm several seasons behind. I figure I'll wait till the finale of the series and see who survives until the bitter end...

The Last Ship's second season began last week and was off to a good start. As long as it doesn't slide into any 'conspiracy' plotlines I'll be fine. Actors are great, nothing is over the top, and to show how much I haven't watched ABC in the last, er, um, decade? I had no idea Eric Dane had been "McSteamy" on Grey's Anatomy (although I did actually watch the episode, via video-on-demand) when they bumped off "McDreamy". Never tick off the executive producer, or head writer, or whoever.

Anyway, still annoyed that A&E jettisoned Longmire, but refuse to get sucked into Netflix right now, so I'll check the library and see if they've gotten Longmire season 3 on DVD yet. Then bingewatch :)

On the new stuff, I'm going to check out Mr. Robot. I saw a few minutes of it and it looks intriguing. As I liked the Matt Damon movie Proof, I've checked out the series and it's decent. I'm watching virtually all shows on video on demand these days (one day I'll replace the DVR - don't care to give Cablevision more money to RENT one of theirs).  Although it should have been a limited run series, The Dome is back so I'm checking it out. It's an hour of nonsense, and oh hey, the book Zoo is now a limited run series (yeah, we'll see about that) and I read they've changed some of what's in the book, so, alas, maybe more conspiracy crap, but I'll check it out to see how it turns out.

I have tried both Killjoys and Dark Matters on SyFy, and I always fall asleep watching it! HOwever, I'll have to check it out via video-on-demand (just better picture quality too) because David Hewlett guest stars in three episodes. Have to admit I need to check out more shows made in Vancouver to catch up with Stargate cast members. They pop up here and there. Wish that SGA were back or they'd make a movie, just as long as Mallozzi has zip to do with it. Dark Matters is too dark (literally) and reminds me of SGU. I swear the cast, costumes, etc. between the above two shows are interchangeable. Do they only have black leather for people to wear??

Realilty-wise, the snow has melted so now I mow lawns, and worse, hack back weeds, which grow so friggin' fast they must be from an alien planet. It's humid half the time, so painting parts of the house just can't get done. Sigh. It's a bumper crop of chipmunks and the lawn is riddled with holes. Only danagerous if you wear high heels ;)

Ah, saw some movies: 1) San Andreas. Total nonsense, where you just suspend belief and go "oh, it's just like a SyFy movie but with people w ho can act'. Limited number of cast, overdone SPX, sketchy cellphone coverage. Jurassic World was better. I rooted for the dinosaurs and alas, thanks to TV ads, many 'surprises' weren't, but the way the big nasty dinosaur was, so that was fun. And well, Chris Pratt was fun to watch, and if you just shrink raptors down to about 12-18", they'd make a good guard dinosaur around the yard. ;)

I'm with you on the no conspiracy theory thing for The Last Ship. I'd much prefer it be an act of Mother Nature, worsened by mankind's actions, that caused the epidemic instead of turning it into a government or terrorist act gone horribly wrong.

The third season of Longmire was the one that aired last summer, and your library may very well have it. Mine does. :)

Season four on Netflix won't begin until an as yet unspecified "late 2015". I won't be able to watch since I can't stream, but they appear to be releasing their big titles on DVD as well.

I'll touch Dark Matter when David Hewlett appears. I've fallen asleep everytime I watch it, so, hey, maybe the show does serve a purpose! ;)

Oh yes, I forgot The Whisopers! I do like that one, too! And apparently I have found one show to watch on ABC as well ;) Now for the rest of the SGA gang to appear on the show.

I may have to wait for season 4 of Longmire before watching 3 as someone else posted it ended on quite a cliffhanger.

Longmire does end on a hell of cliffhanger (actually sort of a double cliffhanger), which was one reason so many were upset that A&E cancelled it.

Dark Matter is created by Mallozzi and Mullie, so I avoided it like the plague despite sounding halfway interesting. They always seemed to like Hewlett, so I'm not surprised they'd get him to guest star, but I was kind of surprised to see Torri Higginson listed for an episode after the debacle on SGA. I'd be willing to bet Joe Flanigan won't be asked because Mallozzi holds a grudge.

I've been watching "Complications" on USA and I'm still not sure if I like it. The summary: "John Ellison, a disillusioned suburban ER doctor, finds his existence transformed when he intervenes in a drive-by shooting, saving a young boy's life and killing one of his attackers. When he learns the boy is still marked for death, he finds himself compelled to save him at any cost and discovers that his life and his outlook on medicine may never be the same."

Many of the characters are absolute assholes with their own agendas, but seem to be trying to do the right thing. Or covering up the wrong things they do to get the right things done. There's a pretty good mix of color, and one of the nurses who is the doctor's accomplice in covering things up is an out lesbian with a very acidic personality. A lot of the plot is ludicrous, but I'm still getting pulled in more than I expected.

I'll have to make one of these posts in a couple of weeks after all my summer shows have finally started airing.

I like Mr. Robot and Killjoys so far. I won't touch Dark Matter with a 10-foot pole.

I also like The Whispers. I think it must shoot around Vancouver, because Steve Bacic and Paul McGillion guest starred on it last Monday.

It's going to be a long wait for the next season of Longmire for me, since I don't have Netflix. Season 3 ended on one hell of a cliffhanger.

I haven't seen Killjoys or Dark Matter yet, though plan to give them a go this week. I've been warned that Dark Matter is pretty dark and am expecting not to like it, but I still want to try it out, mainly because DH appears in it.

I wish I'd seen San Andreas, but the cinema is expensive these days and so I have to pick and choose. I kinda like those 'suspend belief, overdone SFX' disaster movies!! Jurassic Park is not one I'll see in the cinema, considering the effect the original one had on me!! Yes, I'm a wuss!! Watching them on TV is much less scary as you don't get the same immersive feel! I like the idea of mini-dinosaurs... though could they be trained to leave the garden birds alone?!

Now, no walking around the lawn in high heels please, you'll upset the chipmunks if you fall into their holes, lol! :D

Dark Matters is visually dark. For such highly advanced societies that can build huge spaceships, no one seems capable of inventing a decent lightbulb.
