Thank you for three wonderful years!

NBC Universal has forbidden us to release high quality photography for Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1, so we decided to close the site. This was also our only option.

Yes, the parent company of Skiffy (aka SciFi), NBC/Universal, has apparently decided that fans should not have access to high-resolution photos from Stargate Atlantis. It's bad enough the season 2 DVD set has been delayed and delayed, and that season 4 won't air until the Fall of '07, but now they're taking away a great resource - one that didn't ask for money, didn't stamp their name all over the photos in big bold letters like some fan site have a habit of doing, and well, heck, it's not like Skiffy puts up much in the way of promotion, or MGM, or NBC.

To quote Cartman from SOUTH PARK, who would cry in outrage: "Those bastards!"

Whine-rant mode off.

NOTE: THey didn't truly 'yank' the site per se, but in refusing to let anyone publish the images, it is for all intent and purposes, gone, yanked, poof. However, at least the CW doesn't seem to have a problem, as there are tons of SUPERNATURAL images on a branch off the main site.

I don't know about you, but I see this as yet another sign that it's curtains for this series. They're doing everything possible to dilute people's interest in the series.

Season 2 DVDs have been out here since October, I think. I'm amazed that they're not available anywhere else. I find that bizarre, since season 2 has gone to air in the US and Canada, but is only now screening in Australia.

I'm wondering if they are trying to kill the series. Minimal advertising, telling sites they can't host PUBLICITY photos which Skiffy has barely used, the DVDs for season 2 aren't out till next week, they're delaying season 4 until the Fall.

All the publicity shots they take for SGA seem to just languish in a file drawer. Why bother taking them?

Exactly. It's like there's some sort of conspiracy. Maybe Torri and Paul are better off out of this mess. Maybe Joe's very wise to have his wife and boys in LA...

They're killing a show with so much potential with stupid casting decision and brainless marketing. If the average viewer can see the mistakes they're making, surely someone within the inner sanctum can. Either they have morons making decisions for them, or they truly are trying to kill all interest in this franchise.

I mean if you scan all the magazines out there, you don't see even 2% of these photos. It's ridiculous NOT to use them. The press sure isn't...

I bet they're nervous about the season 4 shots coming out. People will not be happy. Mallozzi is talking about the season 4 cast dinner. No mention of Torri, of course, but Jewel, who has 8 eps was there....

I actually told him it was obvious he was pushing an agenda by unscreening all the pro Teyla comments and not the pro Elizabeth ones. Of course he didn't unscreen it....

Of course not. He wants it to appear that Torri doesn't have a lot of support. Fact is, her support base is huge. I hope they're getting scared because we have the ability to put a serious dent in their ratings.

Ugh. So sad to see this news. They just keep swirling farther and farther down the toilet, IMHO. They've got a show that's already struggling with fan reaction, and then they go and alienate fans more? And why the hell are they killing free publicity?!

*sigh* What's the harm in looking at some pictures? The Beeb did this to a site that was showing Torchwood promo photos as well, very disappointing and not understandable at all.

If the studio would make these photos accessible on their own site for the fans, that would be another thing, but it's more like just hiding them away. It makes no sense.

You know what? My whole attitude towards SGA at the moment is 'MEH'. All I want at the moment is a single episode to resolve the S3 cliffhanger...I couldn't give a shit if we get any more. Normally I'm at the stage now where I'm itching for the new season to start airing, even though it's not even filmed yet, but with all this going on I can't even muster the enthusiasm to care. The actors left deserve better than what they are getting, that's what I care about. That's where I'm at with my love of Stargate in general.

There is plenty of other stuff out there that I'm enjoying - and the execs of said shows don't see fit to have to publicly ridicule the fans at every opportunity. When it comes down to it there is better fanfiction out there than what the show is producing.
