Second Spoiler-ridden Stargate Atlantis season 4 ad! Synopsis and screencaps

MASSIVE SPOILERS under the cut!

Okay folks, here’s the recap of the second ad for season 4 of Stargate Atlantis.

 

Stargate fans, this September, Stargate Atlantis returns for a brand new season with an all new attitude. And, an all-new commander (18) Stargate SG-1’s Amanda Tapping signs on as they charge their way into all new adventures. Stargate Atlantis, a SciFi original series, returning this September.

 

1)       Clip of when Sheppard first came through gate into Atlantis, backpack

2)       Weir, McKay and Teyla in control room; everyone looking up

3)       Ronon and Sheppard, looking up to right

4)       Shield over Atlantis as beam hits it (“First Strike”)

5)       McKay, electrode attached to head, looking past camera, startled

6)       Sheppard, gun out, Ronon behind him. Sheppard is yelling “Elizabeth!”

7)       Teyla (hair looks permed!) looks to left

8)       On planet with lots of green foliage, McKay dodges to side as Sheppard flies past him. Yup, that speeding object looks like Sheppard just got knocked back hard. Ronon and Teyla are there too

9)       Lorne, looking out of it, aiming gun at someone

10)   Beam heading toward Atlantis (“First Strike”)

11)   Sheppard, P90 in each hand, going around jumper(?), Ronon following

12)   Asuran city from space

13)   Elizabeth saying “They’re coming, and there are hundreds of them”

14)   People running through Atlantis

15)   Rodney, ever the optimist, says “which means they’re as good as dead.”

16)   “First Strike” clip of people being flung back in explosion

17)   Keller, and Carter (at right) walks past her

18)   Control room. Carter standing near console

20)   In gateroom, Sheppard is knocked to floor with someone’s hands nearly around his neck. Can’t tell as it’s dark but he makes a good thud on impact. Ouch. Whumpers will be happy J

22)   Dr. Lee and Carter off-world. She says “We’ve stepped through the gate and are ready for transport”

23)   Lorne (hey, maybe this is the barefoot scene) holds gun at Sheppard, Carter, and a whole bunch of others in hallway

25)   Closeup of Keller looking freaked (nightmare?)

26)   Closeup of Sheppard saying “can you believe this?” and he sounds a little whacko

My friend Valanie and I have a discussion going on about who it is. The first time I saw the promo I thought it was Rodney, but later I decided that it was Lorne. However, since she and I are both big McShep fans, we want it to be Rodney. Either way, though, we decided it was hot.

It's a slashers dream. I've currently been put on the fence though because Willow's Cat over at gateworld came up with a very plausible idea that it's John on John.

Now as a slasher who never thought of Shep/Lorne, I was on top of this (excuse the pun ^_^) like white on rice. But Once I heard the idea of John on John, well now that's a double scoop of my fave ice cream...What I would give to be sandwhiched, like a pastrami on rye, between two John Sheppard's. ^_^

Life could only be so kind...^_^

While it's very possible we'll see such a scene in the episode, the guy on top(!) in that screencap can't be Joe Flanigan—the nose and angles of the face are all wrong. It's not clear enough to say for 100% sure that it's Kavan Smith, but if not him I think it would have to be a guest actor. None of the other SGA regulars look like that.

Gekko Studios, all the damn Gary Jones commentaries will be forgiven if you include outtakes of this fight on the 4th Season DVDs and there's as much suggestive kidding around on set as I imagine!

Thanks for posting these. Over all, I'm feeling pretty ambivalent about season 4, but it's good to see Lorne. I haven't been reading spoilers as much as I have in the past, so I didn't know that he was going to be back. I was wondering how all the changes and additions was going to affect the recurring people.

These clips have made me less ambivalent. I'm still leery on some plot spoilers, but these clips do make the show look good. Not sure about the new outfits but at least it seems Shep hasn't been attacked by the costumers. Phews.

Thank you very much for the screen-capping and info on the trailer for S4 - I don't live in America so I would not have seen it otherwise :)

The things that jumped out at me from the screencaps are the ridiculous cleavage-enhancing, permanently plunged zippers on the female uniform jackets, and Carter's dodgy hairstyle *shudder*, but otherwise some bits of the action looked quite interesting.

You're not the only person noticing the zipped down uniforms on the womens' uniforms. Joe Mallozzi said in his blog yesterday "Anonymous #1 writes: “In the season 4 previews it shows the female characters with their new uniforms unzipped down their front. So will we also be getting unzipped cleavage shots of Sheppard, Lorne and McKay?”

Answer: Whenever the producers check out some of the fan commentary, invariably the ones that give us the biggest kick are criticisms of the outfits our female regulars wear. They run the gamut from “Why did they make her wear that ugly dress?!” to “They put her in that outfit to make her look sexy!” Please don’t allow this to spoil your fun (and ours at reading the aforementioned comments) but how and what our actors and actresses wear is pretty up to them. Especially in the case of civvies where, in most cases, they’re wearing ensembles that they have hand-selected. Whatever they feel comfortable in is cool with us which is why when the Atlantis cast requested new uniforms for the show’s fourth season, we were more than happy to comply. ... So, ultimately, if an actress would rather wear her jacket zipped down instead of zipped up tight in a tribute to Kilroy, that’s fine with us. " Maybe they just turn up the heat... hm...
