Directions:
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest (unless it's too troublesome to reach and is really heavy. Then go back to step 1). (or unless it doesn't have 123 pages)

WAY OFF THE ROAD: Discovering the Pecular Charms of Small-Town America by Bill Geist

"What makes this appealing, is that that it's something you don't see every day. Anybody can have a demolition derby, but how many people wreck school buses at sixty miles per hours?" Another driver named Mayor offers: "People like to watch buses turn over." Both excellent points.

School bus racing captures some of the free spirit of the old auto racing days, before there were pretty boys who'd attended public speaking classes driving the cars on major networks; before there was a line of NASAAR Harlequin romance novesl and NASCAR Elizabeth Arden cologne! (Do y9u smell burnt rubber?)
