Anybody who gets SciFi's (aka Skiffy) text messages probably knows by now that they're doing a sneak peek on Battlestar Galactica tonight, no doubt removing the possiblity of a sneak peek of SGA on the premiere of EUREKA. :(

Ah sigh. But I'll still tape, just on the off-off chance...

ADDENDUM: Nope, not tonight. Saw an ad on Skiffy during Tru Calling (reminder : Joe Flanigan is on next week's 7pm episode, "Brother's Keeper") for a Battlestar Galactica 'event.' Yes, event. So, SGA isn't an event? Sniffle.

You gotta question the merits of promotion of a series you already put the boot into...over one that might have a shot at renewal.

Just speaks to me that SGA's fate has been decided already...

Oh yes, very true. Why push the series which has already been given the boot? Well, voluntarily, but still...

I don't know much about the BSG situation to be honest...I know they got kept holding on for a while for S4, and for a while it looked like Skiffy wasn't going to pony up for it, but that's about it.

Did they decide not to continue after S4 once they got it?

The producers decided to end it, on their own terms (which makes sense, rather than waiting each year for a renewal/cancellation notice).

Fair play to them. About time someone did that to Skiffy instead of waiting for their rejection. And it's not like it's issued in a timely manner for things to be wrapped up tidily either.

On the issue of the addendum, we saw what Skiffy thinks of a lot of its shows with the messing with the schedule in the past 9 months. I think it's funny all this is centred around Eureka, because I think that is the sort of format that has a future on Skiffy - 13 episode runs - fit nicely into quarter year slots.

And a few months ago, it was all Dresden Files left and right. I mean, I found at least two full page print ads in magazines for EUREKA. I dare say we won't see any for SGA if history repeats itself.
