Meanwhile, Gateworld is reporting Stargate Atlantis will air at 10:00 pm. If so, why has the station spent probably hundreds of thousands of dollars on TV ads that say "9:00 pm"??? Yes, Skiffy's Schedulebot shows the 10:00pm slot, but they've goofed before.... so, I'll stick with 9:00 p.m. as long as the ads say it. If the schedulebot is correct, they'd better correct their ads or else they'll have a lot of people going "WTF?" when they tune it at 9pm and get Flash Gordon (which, to me, doesn't look all that enticing but I'll try out the first episode). Personally, I'd refer the 9pm slot so I can just turn off the tube at 10... ;)

Meanwhile, Knut the cute polar bear, is getting too fat. The croissants must go! Sob…

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070731/ap_on_re_eu/germany_polar_bear_1;_ylt=AitnvFdGEHTSqWY5sC0.O57lWMcFA team of explorers was last night to descend 4300m to the seabed in a miniature submarine to stake Russia's claim to an area of ocean the size of western Europe. Aieee. I thought the Arctic was nobody’s land (well, they’re trying to extend their ‘shelf’ so they can drill the hell out of it. I say we should ban SUVs and all drive little cars…) and http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,22154111-30417,00.html reports

I wonder how much food Knut is getting? The article didn't say. We don't feed our bears a whole lot - it's 10-15 lbs of food per day each during the summer, and that was for full-grown bears.

Well, like the article said, the croissants are out. Heck, I don't even those things, although they are sooo delicious.

Two of our bears are actually "rescues," confiscated from a Mexican circus that kept the animals in HORRIBLE conditions. They fed the bears only bread and local produce. BEARS. WTF? It took us quite awhile to transition them onto a real diet.

That's horrible. Reminds me of the idiot who just fed his dog donuts and beer - it was rescued, he was charge with animal cruelty and the dog was given to someone who rehabilitates. Dog (Sheltie) should have weighed 25-30 lbs - was 60! Only way to exercise was in a swimming pool.
