Sci Fi touted the women of Battlestar. The line for the panel snaked a quarter mile through the convention hallways and out onto a hot, sunny patio. Hundreds baked in the sun; thousands, apparently, were turned away. … The Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis panels were raucous, moderated by Gary Jones, a Toronto Second City improv vet who plays the beloved “GateGuy” (Chief Master Sgt. Walter Harriman) on SG-1. No such event would be complete without a fan protest. When an audience member asked the Stargate producers “what they have against doctors,” the 4,500-strong crowd roared and hundreds of little Scottish flags fluttered in the air. Earlier, a fan named Michelle from San Francisco had distributed the keepsakes in support of returning Dr. Carson Beckett (Paul McGillion) to the Atlantis cast. The character, a Scot and a medical doctor, was killed off last season. The producers tried to deflect the issue with humor. “It’s not doctors we have a problem with,” executive producer Robert Cooper quipped. “It’s Scottish people.” Atlantis showrunner Joe Mallozzi assured the crowd he loved Scottish people and instructed them to redirect their “hate e-mail to Rob Cooper. I like newborns, mostly bwecause my counterpart actually sleeps in Teylas sock drawer, don't ask me how she can fit in the thing :)

it is just that there are now many rumors going about Gateowld Forums saying "Yay Rachel!" and the like I just want to be sure(know whayt I mean?)

also I wonder if this means that Teyla WILL be in the season finale? they stop the filming part in October sometime so if Rachel had her child now.... just rambling again I am here :)

I'm not 100% sure she's had the baby. Bam-bam the stunt coordinator said in his thread that Rachel nad the baby are doing fine, but I don't know if that means they're fine as in one, or the baby's been born, as it can mean two things.

Answer: Since Rachel will be pregnant throughout the shooting of season four, the Teyla character will also be pregnant through most of the season.

I can't imagine he'd say "throughout shooting of season four" if she was going to give birth two months before they finish. I bet it's a case of people putting two and two together and coming up with 47.

And at the end of the day it's a private thing anyway.

So this podcast, is it very long? I'm really not sure I can be bothered to sit through it.

Well, the pregnancy thing is totally public now (Joe Mallozzi made it so). Fans wouldn't have known till the scifi tour if he hadn't made remarks on his blog.

Anyway, the podcast is about 45 minutes or so. If you download, you can skip up until 18 minutes or so for the actual interviews. I must admit I skipped over JM to go straight to the cast as JM didn't say anything incredibly new, but it was fun listening to the actors.

I think I'll wait and see if someone will give me the edited highlights. I really don't feel like listening to it, to be honest I'm not that interested in the actors outside of SGA these days.

Yes the fact that Rachel is pregnant is public and yes at some point she's going to give birth but that doesn't mean she has to put out a some kind of statement to the fans to say she's had the kid or that she has to talk about the child after it is born. If the actors choose to discuss their family etc then fine but certain less than stable members of the fandom seem to think they have a right to intrude on the actor's personal lives.
