Yup, the predicted storm did arrive, although about six hours late. I took the day off (use it or lose it, so I took the last vacation day I had) and I'm glad I did, as twenty minutes after it started, Ithought, I'll run an errand. Went down the road, turned around, came back. Roads were slick and the Fed Ex truck just missed the stone wall!

So, here are some photos from today's snow!

A Christmas tree a few roads down. I couldn't get a decent sharp photo without flash (sure not dragging a tripod around in the snow), so went for the artistic squiggle look ;)

A snowy road, plowed but already full of snow again.

A snowy nebula! No, but it looks cool, doesn't it? I just breathed out and caught it as it froze up :)

Have fun with the next bout thats on the way :D

We just got done with 36 hours of snow that piled up to around 3 feet(really really high for here), and there is more on its way in from the Pac this weekend.

I finally made it out to the road earlier today(only took 5 minutes instead of yesterday's 15) and found that even if we were to get one of the van's free, we'd be SOL as our driveway has a 3-4 foot wall of ice in front of it from the single lane the snow plow carved out.

I'm hoping we can get out of here by Sunday/Monday for basic groceries if nothing else as we are starting to run low on milk. Plus am totally starting to eyeball the icicles as friends *g* can't stand being STUCK for so long(haven't gotten out of here since Tuesday, add in a 16-18 hour stretch of no power = rollicking good times ;) )

Eeeuuuu, too much snow, etc. for me! Yeah, they LOVE to just plow all the snow from the road in front of the driveway, which is why I was out at 9pm last night shoveling the bottom of the driveway. Not like SGA was on to watch anyway ;)

I'm not looking forward to the next storm.

Yes, it is faaaaar too much snow especially when you aren't used to it.

Tried to get out today, and that just did *NOT* happen couldn't even get the cars out of the lot.

And now the new round of snow came in and with it brought wind so we will see what happens.

I hadn't bought snow tires as I hadn't expected to still own this car as I'd planned on replacing it -then the market meltdown and the shakiness of the job - so will drive the old car on all season tires, which really, don't do the job in snow. darn.

*shrugs* Well we just have tires on the car(not sure what kind, lol), as we don't normally even get Snow snow, and when it does snow its just a little bit and melts quickly.

Though this weather has brought on a whole new level of fun now, in that one of the goats nearly died of hypothermia last night and I had to save her. So now I have a 50lb goat running around my kitchen *g*.

She makes for a very interesting dog. I grabbed some snaps of her wandering around the house(and some video too) and uploaded them to my blog: http://mackenziesmomma06.blogspot.com/2008/12/you-might-be-country-girl-if.html
