Evolution of a cherry pie

wraithfodderWell, I bought cherries, and I still can't eat them. Allergic to them now, if they're raw. However, if they're baked into a pie....
These are the now pitted cherries, mixed up with sugar and stuff, before I baked it.
Um, did some taste-testing. Had to make sure it was done, right?
And then there were a bunch of cherry pits. Did a quick google, then put them out on the patio, for the ravenous rodents...
burp!

The tree was very old and gnarled and loaded with fruit each year.
When I was a child she made preserves, cherry wine, cherry pie and cherry juice and I happily sampled all but the wine.................
It was to die for.
