Taking another stab at embedding videos. Joe Mallozzi posted two short clips from the finale of season 5 of Stargate Atlantis - well, heck, end of the show :( The last couple seconds of this video are sooo cute. Decided to put 'em both under the cut just in case folks haven't seen the finale.

Perhaps SciFi channel should consider hiring someone to actually do PR for their shows. Joe Mallozzi said his blog entry today (July 17th) of last night's 'exclusive sneak peek' ... From what I understand, that was the first of several 30 second clips they’ll be running from now until the season premiere.

Soooo..... does Skiffy expect fans to watch their entire schedule?? (I don't know of anybody who could stomach that, from ECW to incredibly bad movies). Or will they give us a hint? As it is, I tape/watch EUREKA, definitely tape DOCTOR WHO, but the rest?? Um... I've basically reached my quota of bad CGI alien bug flicks. Heck, I'll even pass on David Hewlett's BOA VS PYTHON as I got a nice cheap copy on DVD now.

In flicking around various boards and whatnot, while folks seem appreciative of the ad, they weren't keen on the one scene thing. Everybody basically wanted a nice montage of action clips. Now, if Skiffy had said last night... "Now, the first of exclusive sneak peeks..." that would have whetted everyone's appetite. I sorta get the feeing that SciFi is a bit disconnected from the very audience they seek to hold on to....

I transcribed the following stuff below the cut from http://stargate.mgm.com/video.php?id=62 video (which is about five minutes) Feel free to link to this LJ post but please don’t copy it elsewhere. Thanks!

Have you ever read a news story that just made you want to bash your head into the keyboard due the sheer insanity of the topic? (well, excluding anything on politics, which makes you want to do yourself in with the mouse cord)... anyway, I've been seeing photos of Knut, a little polar bear cub in Berlin, in the news now for weeks. Then I trip over this story at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6470509.stm - Berlin Zoo has vowed it will not kill a baby polar bear amid a heated row over whether it is right to hand-rear the cub, who was rejected by his mother. I'm like, huh what?? I read that article, a few others, and just shook my head. First, wild animals don't lose their instincts. Sorry, doesn't matter if a human raises them or not, they're still a wild animal. I seriously doubt the zoo will turn the polar bear cub into a couch potato... heck, I've got this cute little cat here, but boy, put a chipmunk in front of him and it gets gory real fast. But anyway, I think the whole proposition is insane. Baby wild animals are saved all the time by animal rescue people. We're stewards of the planet earth and should help the animals, not destroy them due to some bizarre ideology. Sheesh.

Anyway, speaking of insanity, I visited Joe Mallozzi's blog (http://josephmallozzi.blogspot.com/), and well, read the rest under the cut.

Sounds like a bad movie, doesn't it?

This post is in response to an oddly-titled thread I saw over at GW about "shrill and ill-informed lemmings." Well, I was gonna jump in there and defend the much-maligned species of lemmings (subfamily Microtinae, family Muridae), until I read what all the fuss was about. That's where I snerched the great little lemming icon adn I have to go back and find out who made it and give them credit.
